This amount of money makes the stock market and FOREX trading unlikely matches. Without knowing your risk tolerance and investment time horizon, it is hard to make an accurate suggestion. However, based on the amount of money you have to invest and the desire to get a decent return on your money. I would suggest looking into P2P lending. Here is an article that can explain it better, . Worth the read. I have about $2k invested right now getting almost 14%.

It might be better to invest it in something that will give you a return while it is sitting there. If you think foreign currency is the way to go, which is not such a bad idea, there are index funds that invest in foreign currencies and also pay dividends in the mean time. Unfortunately, none that I am aware of that invest in yuan. FXE invests in the Euro and has had quite a run, up 4% ytd and pays 3% dividend. But a more diversified bet would be a fund that invests in foreign sovereign debt. With such a fund you get interest payments, protect yourself from the dollar, and spread out the risk some. One I know of is GIM. Pays 5.2 % interest currently and is up about 13% this year.

    invest in ETF

ETFs are cheaper than mutual funds. ETFs have very low annual expenses, nearly 20 basis points or 0.2% less. As against this, actively managed mutual funds show average expenses exceeding 135 basis points (1.35%). This does not include the extra 2% - 5% as loads, 12(b)-1 marketing fees, transactions costs, and soft dollar expenses mutual funds, passed on to you but never informed, except in very fine print that nobody cares to read.
